Let us remember that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of others first. The birth of the baby Jesus stands as the most significant event in all history, because it has meant the pouring into a sick world the healing medicine of love which has transformed all manner of hearts for almost two thousand years…

Let us keep Christmas beautiful without a thought of greed, that it might live forevermore to fill our every need, that it shall not be just a day, but last a lifetime through, the miracle of Christmas time that brings God close to you.

My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others,helping others

Christmas is a wonderful time for us to remember the friends and partners who help make our ministry possible. So we’d like to take this moment to say “thank you” and send our best wishes to you and your family. We are praying that your holiday season and the coming New Year be filled with much joy, peace, happiness and success.

During Christmas we are reminded what our Savior said, “it is better to give than to receive.” To know that you are helping to make someone’s life just a little bit easier or helping to make someone happy is an indescribable feeling. As I’m sure you realize, while you are busy buying and making gifts for your loved ones this Christmas season, there are still many people in need. While most of us take for granted having a Merry Christmas, there are some among us who can only pray and dream about it.

The Santa  at the mall was  surprised when a young girl  about  25 years old .Santa doesn’t usually take requests from youngers, but she smiled very nicely at him, so he said, “OK, you can ask for something but it has to be for someone other than yourself. What do you want for Christmas?”

“Something for my father,” said the young lady.

“Something for your father? Well, that’s very thoughtful of you,” smiled Santa Claus . “What do you want me to bring her? “Without  hesitating  she replied, “A soninlaw”
We often state that Christmas is a time when the focus is on giving But lets be frank and honest – for most people, the great excitement of Christmas is in what we get or receive as gift , not in what we give as gift . How many people do you know who are saying, “I can’t wait to give a gift!”? Now, how many people do you know who are saying, “I can’t wait to see what I receive !”?

As parents, we know the delight of observing our children open their presents, but are we instilling in our young kids the joy of giving or is Christmas simply a time when they are excited to receive what they wanted ?
While trying not to sound too cynical, how many of the gifts we give every Christmas are given because we feel obligated to give, or because we are hoping to receive something back? Is it possible for those of us who are Christ-followers to give simply for the joy of giving?

Jesus said 

Matthew 5:46-47

46. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

47. And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?

Luke 6:32

“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

To take it one step further, if we give only to those from whom we expect to receive something back, how are we different from anyone else in the world? What should distinguish God’s people is a desire to give with no thought of receiving anything back.

In Luke 14:12-14, Jesus said, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

May I encourage you, to seek to find ways to give to those who can’t give back, to learn to give simply for the joy of giving.
